Today

Today bloomed sweet and sticky like honey, The breeze was cool against my skin, The birds kept me dancing with their endless requiems, Peace descended in droves of misty clouds, Thank you Lord,

Um...Hi :)

via Where to start except at hello. :) I started this blog years ago, because I like to write, and I wanted to use my gift to shed some light, even if it's flame barely flickered like a lone candle in the wind. Yet this blog evolved and is evolving into something more. I've always tried to keep it maybe a little impersonal, yet super personal at the same time if that makes sense...impersonal by not really talking about myself, yet super personal by sharing my poems which are the most intimate parts of me, if one knows how to read between the lines. This blog has shared in my journey, the journey of a girl born in an island in the middle of the sea colliding with her destiny in a major way. Jesus...He is my purpose, my reason for living, my comforter, my friend. It only takes one name, to make all the difference. Yet, what a difference He makes. He enters your world and shakes all that can be shaken, until all that's left is what's solid, and what's real, a

Dear Restless Heart

via Dear restless heart, be still; don't fret and worry so; God has a thousand ways His love and help to show; Just trust, and trust, and trust, until His will you know.   Dear restless heart, be still, for peace is God's own smile, His love can every wrong and sorrow reconcile; Just love, and love, and love, and calmly wait awhile.   Dear restless heart, be brave; don't moan and sorrow so, He hath a meaning kind in chilly winds that blow; Just hope, and hope, and hope, until you braver grow.   Dear restless heart, repose upon His breast this hour, His grace is strength and life, His love is bloom and flower; Just rest, and rest, and rest, within His tender power.   Dear restless heart, be still! Don't struggle to be free; God's life is in your life, from Him you may not flee; Just pray, and pray, and pray, till you have  faith  to see. --Edith Willis Linn

Song of the Night

The starling's song is never as sweet as when the twilight's shadow entices it to sing, As night falls it' s lilting melody pervades the forest, echoing off the rocky ledge, As if pulled by it's haunting melody the moon begins to rise, shining her light and chasing away the dark, until all that's left is  a jolting chorus of loves lost and battles won,

OH THE JOY

Sun kissed and wrapped in joy is this love, Wrapped in the early mists of dawn, I wake to the Springtime song of sparrows, Go to sleep while the stars overhead they twinkle, I dive endlessly into the billowy softness of clouds, The world is my launching pad, I feel myself going up,up,up into forever, Flying higher and higher I soar like the eagle, See her glide, Watch me go...up,up, into forever

Lord Keep My Eyes Fixed On You

Keep your eye steadily fixed on the infinite grandeur of Christ's finished work and righteousness. Look to Jesus and believe, look to Jesus and live! Nay, more; as you look to him, hoist your sails and buffet manfully the sea of life. Do not remain in the haven of distrust, or sleeping on your shadows in inactive repose, or suffering your frames and feelings to pitch and toss on one another like vessels idly moored in a harbor. The religious life is not a brooding over emotions, grazing the keel of faith in the shallows, or dragging the anchor of hope through the oozy tide mud as if afraid of encountering the healthy breeze. Away! With your canvas spread to the gale, trusting in Him, who rules the raging of the waters. The safety of the tinted bird is to be on the wing. If its haunt be near the ground--if it fly low--it exposes itself to the fowler's net or snare. If we remain grovelling on the low ground of feeling and emotion, we shall find ourselves entangled in a thousand m
"I knew Jesus, and He was very precious to my soul; but I found something in me that would not keep sweet and patient and kind. I did what I could to keep it down, but it was there. I besought Jesus to do something for me, and, when I gave Him my will, He came to my heart, and took out all that would not be sweet, all that would not be kind, all that would not be patient, and then HE shut the door."  --George Fox

Patiently Waiting

via Somewhere beyond the sea, far beyond where eyes can see, I know he waits for me, Somewhere beyond the shore, on a distant horizon their is a door that stands open, And I wait for the day when destiny and history collide, The day I run to outstretched arms I've always known, Scale up mountains, and cross valleys wide I wait for you,

Holding On

Shelter

What can I say when words aren't nearly enough? What can I do to show You my love? Out of a sea of people You reach for me, Heal my battered heart and dry away all my tears, Paint me a bright tomorrow and calm all my fears, Into the shelter of your wings You gather me, Breathing the calmest peace inside of me, I rest in Your love because it's more than enough, Image via

He Steadies My Heart

Their are days when try as I might, I can't do it by myself...days when the what ifs' and what might have beens' come knocking. Those days, when my vision becomes dim, I turn to the One who steadies my heart.

MAKE ROOM FOR MIRACLES!

Rise

Sometimes the only way to rise is to let go of everything that tethers you to the ground...

Beauty in Motion

Tomorrow is not promised, So I've decided to embrace today, Holding it tightly to my chest and listening to it's heart beat, I watch the clouds flit across the sky like unchoreographed dancers, And I mimic their movements here on the ground, The trees sway in time to the birds lilting symphony, A perfect harmony,                                                                                                                           via

Call On Jesus

A reminder that, even on the worst days when everything seems to be going wrong, your life is in bigger hands than your own.

A Long Walk

via The wind whistles through the trees, A song as eternal as the stars, I tilt my head to the side, the better to hear the melodies, I close my eyes and feel the rhythm moving through me, My heart beats in time, slow and steady, My lips part as if of their own volition, and I begin to sing along,

THIS LIGHT

It’s a brilliant light, A light that blinds my eyes, And yet I’ve never seen more clearly, And while I look I’m transported, As if through time, To a place I’ve never seen, And yet I know it’s home, I can feel it in the very marrow of my bones, And this joy overwhelms me, Washes over me like a morning mist, And I feel light, As light as air, Nothing tethers me to land, No trouble or care, And I begin to float, Away to a place that’s always been, And now I know that that thing I’ve always held inside was hope, And that it floats,

If We Could See Beyond Today

"If we could see beyond today As God can see; If all the clouds should roll away, The shadows flee; O'er present griefs we would not fret. Each sorrow we would soon forget, For many joys are waiting yet For you and me. "If we could know beyond today As God doth know, Why dearest treasures pass away And tears must flow; And why the darkness leads to light, Why dreary paths will soon grow bright; Some day life's wrongs will be made right, Faith tells us so. "'If we could see, if we could know,' We often say, But God in love a veil doth throw Across our way; We cannot see what lies before, And so we cling to Him the more, He leads us till this life is o'er; Trust and obey." Heart's Song

Image via Their is a song in my heart filled with the sweetest melody, Each chord wraps around my heart strings and fills me with glee, It's effect is instantaneous, A soothing balm to my restless  soul, Like sunshine on a rainy day, It chases the storm clouds right away, Despite gravity my feet can't seem to stay on the ground, A beautiful harmony surrounds me, It is my heart's song,

Carpe Diem!

Pushing against the current, The world an ever ebbing flow, Eyes straight ahead never leaving their target, There is a reason for my journey, A purpose for this soul, So I continue on my slow and steady trek, Onward, Upward, That’s it, Almost home,

Masterpiece In The Making

My dreams are like airbrushed paintings, dense in some areas and way too transparent in others, But they still float, They still hope, They still dare to believe in the unbelievable and think the unthinkable, Image via

Long Way Home

I can't help smiling when I hear this song...*whistles, just a long way home* :)

Singing Outloud

Sing a new song, Get ready the instruments, Dance on the clouds, The stars your necklace, Sing a new song, Don't you know Spring's on the way? Get ready, put on your best dress, Because today is the day, No more crying, The sky is blue, The sun has come out, and this one's for you, Sing a new song, Girl from an island far, Been waiting so long, Now He's come along, Daughter don't worry, I just want to see your smile, It suits you so well, I made it perfect, to match the light in your eyes, Sing a new song, Though winter has been so long, I've blown the storm clouds away, Look the birds have come out to play, Sing a new song, A song that tells of my love, For the girl from an island far, far, away

Sweet Solitude

Meet me in the cool of morning, In the quiet space before the sun rises, Sweet solitude a soothing balm for my soul, I breathe in the sweet promises of a new day, I dance amidst the dew drops, The sparrow's lilting melodies a wondrous refrain, I could stay here forever twirling through the mist, Laughing aloud and waiting for Spring, via

Dream Catcher

Their is something very special about a new year...it rushes in filled to bursting with hopes waiting to come to life, dreams that float just within reach, and your sure that if you just stretch a little higher, and maybe stand up on your tippy toes you'll manage to catch them. It's a new beginning, a fresh start, and brimming with endless possibilities.

I Have A Dream

And The Sun Shines Down

And the sun shines down, Sending all it's warmth into my heart, Spreading it's delicious rays through out my body like the sweetest syrup, I lift my face the better to feel the tantalizing sensations, I can't stop this smile from taking over, I smile, and I smile, and I smile, And just for a split second I eclipse the sun,
