Their is a perfect rest that remains for the people of God. A perfect peace in the midst of storms. An anchor in the eye of the storm. His name is Jesus. You see when He stretched His hands out on the cross, and declared it was finished, He meant it. So now, we who are in Christ no longer have to strive, and strain for acceptance from God. Now we get to come freely as children, because as Jesus is so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17. We all have those days where we fall short : lose our temper in traffic , harbor unforgiveness-whatever that purported failure may look like in your life-and the enemy likes to run in like a flood and happily point out all our flaws, but their is something we need to remember, and engrave on the tablets of our hearts : our righteousness is of Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21. Because of Christ's finished work-it is not of ourselves, therefore no man may boast-we can stand confidently before the throne of God. Hebrews 4:16. Jesus did what no one on earth, ever could : He lived a perfect life, and His love ran red on the cross. Now how certain and immovable should our hope be, knowing that the One who loved us more than His own life, now lives enthroned in glory ? He is our beautiful living hope . What can we conclude from this? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31.
