Gentle Whispers

Through the whirlwind He whispers my name,
Tells me I was chosen before the foundation of the world,
That I was marked with His light and set aside for such a time as this,
As the dawn paints the sky, He whispers His promises and to my ear they ring true,
Promises to bless me, to protect me, to guide me, to never leave me alone,
He tells me He counts every hair on my head,
He knows when I rise and when I lay down,
He knows the things that lay heavy on my soul, and the things that make my heart smile,
He tells me His thoughts of me outnumber the very sands of time,
I look at Him with a million questions in my mind, a thousand whys,
He silences them with the next words He utters:For I have loved you with an everlasting love , and with loving kindness I have drawn you,
You see it's simple , He wants me to be His,

A God Sized Dream

Image via : indescribable love.com One of my favorite characters in the Bible is Joseph. He was known as a dreamer, and the dreams he had were God sized dreams. Dreams which were bigger than his current circumstances, dreams which would follow him for years without bearing fruit, but like all God given dreams in the end, at their proper, appointed time they would have to come to pass. Do you have any God given dreams? Maybe ones that are so huge that when you share them with others they laugh ? Or maybe like the case of Joseph's brothers they become envious to the point of plotting your down fall? You see , what Joseph's brothers did not understand- and what Joseph himself did not recognize-was that this dream did not speak about God lifting Joseph up just to be honored , and glorified above his brothers. No, God was going to use Joseph on the platform he would be given to save a nation.   The thing about God given dreams is th...

Blindsided

Sometimes the things you don’t see coming in life can blindside you the most: such as a family member being diagnosed with one of those scary words, that somewhere in the back of your mind you thought was reserved for TV medical dramas. I’ve learned that God is so much bigger than any fear that may try to creep into our heart. We’re human: flesh, and blood, God remembers our frame that we are dust...but He is eternal, our God who gives strength to the weak, and power to the powerless. I remember at what felt like my most hopeless moment, in a pit of disbelief at what was happening around me, and feeling so utterly alone, suddenly I could feel God’s Presence, palpably...it felt like I was surrounded totally, in His arms. The angst, and worry flew away, and I was completely at peace, and felt I could get through the rest of the day. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and is available to give us this comfort if we will come to Him. We don’t have to have it all together. Perhaps in your momen...

Garment of Praise

Praise is a weapon, and it’s so important that we learn to use it appropriately. We all have challenging days, and it’s those very times that we need to cling to Jesus. The Bible tells us that God inhabits our praise; Inhabit  is defined as: ‘to exist or be situated within; dwell in’ I don’t know about you, but when I encounter difficulties or trials, there is nothing better than knowing that God is in the midst of it with me; moving and working on my behalf. I’m not going to say that my flesh doesn’t fight against this, and that there aren’t times when I want to ‘clap back’ as they say...after all they deserve it right? You hurt me, so I hurt you? It’s the way of the world after all, and we have so many sayings that attest to this...that speak of revenge, and payback...but God doesn’t agree with the things of this world.  Psalm 22:3 KJV 3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Something starts to happen when I begin to praise God for who ...
